History of our Silk Road Chinoiserie collection

Unusual beginnings of the Chinoiserie collection.

Our Chinoiserie collection was created in an unusual way. This is because it was born in an equally unusual situation, which made it possible for us to create a whole collection of wallpapers, which even before it was created, already had its purpose in the interior. The moment we started working on the spring-summer 2021 collection, we had in mind wallpapers alluding to the art of the Far East, cherry blossom blossoms, boughs of bonsai trees, brushstrokes that at one time resemble abstract forms, to in a moment appear as leaves, hills and water fowl. Our rather slow pondering, which was still just pondering, was interrupted by an inquiry from a talented interior designer – Paulina Maślak. She called our office to ask if we had “something Japanese” planned. Coincidence? Attraction? Destiny?

Whatever you call the beginnings of this cooperation, it brought us a lot of joy, motivation and satisfaction

We knew from the beginning that something beautiful would be created.

Japanese theme in the interior.

So we started creating, partly out of a need in our hearts and dreams of a Chinoiserie-style collection. On the other hand, knowing that the designs, once completed, right away, will find a place/project where they can flourish to their full potential.

So we created with a calmness that allowed our designers to do a lot of drawing trials. We had time and space to experiment, in a creative atmosphere.

We created many color versions, of which the royal one was chosen, in gold and bronze. In addition to the golden shade, we prepared versions in shades of warm copper, navy blue and bottle green…. as it turned out, the investors were brave people who were not afraid of surprising colors.

Pure sea turquoise and…. apple green!

We didn’t believe it would work ourselves, but after printing the first color swatches, we knew that these colors with the floral pattern would make a fabulous combination.

This is how three wallpapers with an oriental theme were created, in three completely different shades, which made each of the bedrooms in this trio, have a different character, while forming a cohesive whole with the others.

The material on which the wallpaper for this interior was printed was textile wallpaper from our French manufacturer. The PREMIUM material, which is completely ecological (it is a fabric), does not emit harmful fumes, and its structure gives a subtle and elegant effect. Combined with a non-toxic, odorless print, it makes an ideal decorative piece for the bedroom.

The material used for the Chinoiserie designs has another remarkable advantage – the pearl effect of the material, beautifully reflecting the sun’s rays. The wallpaper shimmers like silk adding a luxurious touch to the interior.
